Ian Henzel is the co-founder and publisher of Rattling Good Yarns Press, a mission-based LGBTQ+ owned and operated independent press established in 2019 and dedicated to amplifying overlooked LGBTQ+ voices. Prior to founding the press, he spent 42 years in technology marketing, product management, project management, and quality assurance. A lifelong LGBTQ+ activist, he regards publishing as an extension of his advocacy, working to bring forward stories that might otherwise go unheard. He is also the host of the podcast Bold Voices/Good Yarns, which examines how authors’ lives inform their work, and, as a public speaker, he has addressed audiences in the United States and the United Kingdom on the role of LGBTQ+ owned and operated independent publishers in sustaining queer literature. He lives in Cathedral City, California, with his husband of 38 years, guided by Rattling Good Yarns Press’s mission to produce quality work and treat people right.
