
Betsy Carswell leads the nonprofit Golden Crown Literary Society, supporting an international community devoted to increasing the diversity, accessibility, and visibility of sapphic literature. She brings strategic insight and care-centered leadership to her work, grounded in the belief that literature is a powerful tool for connection and change. A retired senior manager in the U.S. Intelligence Community, Betsy spent 32 years as a cartographer and geospatial intelligence analyst. She holds a B.A. in Geography and Religion, an M.S. in Pastoral Counseling, and a graduate certificate in Conflict Resolution and Negotiation (Creighton University).
