
Cheryl A. Head’s writing explores themes of social justice and diversity. Her award-winning Charlie Mack Motown Mysteries, whose female PI protagonist is queer and Black, was featured on the game show Jeopardy! Her 2023 historical fiction novel, Time’s Undoing, was shortlisted for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, as well as the Anthony, Macavity, Agatha, and Strand Critics Awards. Head was named to the Saints & Sinners LGBTQ+ Literary Festival Hall of Fame in 2019, is a 2022 recipient of the Alice B. Award, and is the 2026 winner of the Saints & Sinners Fiction Contest. She is co-chair of the 2027 Bouchercon World Mystery Convention, which will be held in Washington, DC.
