Viento Izquierdo Ugaz

Viento Izquierdo Ugaz (b. 1992, Lima, Perú) [they/he] is a trans/disciplinary artist/organizer, poet, medium and language justice worker. Through writing, photography, and thread, they address the burden of imposed migration that has woven its threads into the visual tapestry of their lineage. They are a co-organizer of BODYHACK, a mutual aid platform for trans people; TRANSMISSION, NYC’s first trans music festival; and the Visual Art Field Coordinator at Queer|Art. Izquierdo-Ugaz is also a member of Mil Mundos Books Colectiva. He is a 2020-21 Poetry Project Curatorial Fellow and a 2025 Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grantee. Their first chapbook is Estoy Tristeza (No Dear, 2018).
