Nikki Ummel

Nikki Ummel has been published by The Georgia Review, Black Lawrence Press, and others. She is the 2025 recipient of the New American Poetry Prize for her forthcoming collection, Swamp Elegies. Nikki is the co-founder of LMNL, an arts organization focused on providing free and accessible arts workshops, readings, community events, and more. She has two poetry chapbooks, Hush (Belle Point Press, 2022) and Bayou Sonata (NJHF, 2023), funded by the New Orleans’ Jazz and Heritage Foundation.
